During testing, several other 21700-sized cells were also compatible with the TAC30, including cells from EVE, Molicel, NEXTORCH and Wuben. This gives users greater flexibility when choosing spare batteries for extended outdoor use.

The TAC30 itself does not have an onboard charging port. Instead, the included battery charges directly through USB-C, keeping the charging system separate from the flashlight body.

Tested After Dark: TAC30 Beam Performance

Performance charts are useful, but a flashlight ultimately needs to prove itself outside the test bench.

Tim took the TAC30 to a local park and photographed the beam on Turbo with a tree approximately 70 metres away. The resulting beamshot shows the TAC30's concentrated hotspot and relatively narrow spill, characteristics that support its throw-focused tactical design.

This real-world test provides useful context for users who need visibility across open ground, trails, rural properties, or other low-light environments.

Thermal Behaviour

Tim also monitored surface temperature during extended Turbo operation. The TAC30 became warm during sustained high-output use, reaching a measured maximum of 67.5°C after approximately 40 minutes in a 15°C room.
